December 28, 2011 Thank You Cards;0)

Good afternoon my bloggy friends! We (my family) went to Archiver's yesterday after we dropped my mom off at the airport.:( I needed some "inspiration"....I usually find something to work with there.:0) My son found the Sew Ribbon by WR Memory Keepers.....and that was it; we found our inspiration. I saw this set demonstrated on the shopping network a few months back (QVC, I think) and it looked pretty cool. I think it is easy to use and adds such pretty detail.;0) I added pictures of what I (we/my son helped) used to create the card.  The Sew Ribbon "does not" come with ribbon. The ribbon has to be purchased seperately. I am pretty sure on the shopping network there was some type of bundle where you received different ribbon styles and ribbon. Thanks for stopping by and have a great night;0)

December 13, 2011 luminary

Good evening. I saw a video of someone using Krylon Glitter Blast and decided I HAD to try it. I found the color Sparkling Water at Michael's; it was $7.99. It is soooooooo pretty.;0) ITEMS used:  old plastic peanut butter container, clear contact paper, and Krylon Glitter Blast. The snowflake shape is from the Christmas cartridge. I cut the paper (contact paper up) on depth 6, speed 3. It worked great. I placed the snowflake shape on the container and we sprayed the container. You will probably want to use a sealer. I am still trying to find where I put mine. hmmmm I will try and post the blog that featured this spray. ( http://www.217creations.com/ ) I have a flameless candle inside. My son was pretty proud of it and wanted to look at it.;0)

December 3, 2011 Christmas Memory Card Game

Good evening everyone!!!! I just finished making some Christmas Memory Cards for my son's class to use at their Christmas party.:0) I purchased two sets of chipboard coasters at Michael's; they were in the $1.50 bin. I attached the cardstock (Recollections) with double-stick tape. After that I sanded the edges of the cardstock down with a foam sanding block. One side of the coaster is white...I used that side to place the shape. The Christmas theme was the side I covered with cardstock. Here are the cartridges I used to create this. From My Kitchen: gingerbread man Hello Kitty Greetings: snowman Winter Frolic: tree and mouse with gift Doodlecharms: Santa Create a Critter:reindeer Paper used: K&C Company and Recollections Have a great weekend everyone!!!;0)

November 26, 2011 2nd grade Chirstmas Party Deocrations

Good afternoon everyone!!:0) Here are a few decorations I have been working on. I am not sure if you can see, but I used the plastic cover to the mat to make the wrapper for the candy. I set the cutting speed to 4, to make sure the plastic did not tear. If you to try this.....make sure to use a very sticky mat.;0) I will try and go back in a bit and label what cartridge the shape was from. Hope you all are enjoying your weekend.:0) Paper used: (old) SU, Recollections, DCWV, and K&Company Cartridges used: +Winter Frolic Snow much fun girl skating boy on sled girl holding gift christmas tree +Create a Critter reindeer +Simply Charmed stocking candy candy cane happy holidays santa mitten and cap +In your kitchen platter cookies gingerbread men +Everyday Paper Dolls boy with skis girl with snowboard

November 18, 2011 Rosette Turkey #2

Good afternoon!!! Here is my updated version of the rosette turkey. If you would like directions, I followed the Pumpkin Rosette directions and then added my own details. For the pumpkin rosetted directions, please go to the Turkey Rosette post previouslly posted.;0) This is what I did to alter the Pumpkin Rosette: I did not make the first rosette (2 strips of 1 1/2 x 12 inch-top layer),  instead I made two of the bottom size rosettes (2 strips of 1 3/4 x 12 inch) ,  one on top ... one on the bottom. For the tail: I cut a scalloped circle and glued the paper to that, making a half rosette. If you pinch the inner part of the paper it is easier to (hot) glue to the scalloped circle. Ingredients: Recollections paper                     (old) SU paper (red and orane)                     oval shapped Wiggle eyes (Michael's)                     1 3/8 circle punch (I think) SU                      scalloped circle punch (Marvy)                      Create a Critter (ca

November 5, 2011 Rosette Turkey

Good afternoon everyone!!! I made a rosette this morning. I was wanting to make some sort of Thanksgivng decoration for my son's teacher and this is what I came up with. I found the directions for the rosette here: http://mrsbscraftroom.blogspot.com/ Go check out here blog if you haven't been there before. She made a beautiful pumpkin rosette.:0) AND she made a video to show you how to make it.;0) I followed the instructions she had and made the brown rosette. I added an extra rosette on the top, I believe it was 2 1/2 x 12 (2 pieces). What I added: 3 strips of 4 x 12 scored at 1/2 inch intervals. I made a 1/2 rosette. At the bottom (to hold it together) is about a 2x12 strip of the same cardstock glued to the rosette. The cartridge I used was Create a Critter. The cardstock I used was: rosette and turkey (Recollections) and the rest was (old) SU. Let me know if you have any questions. Have a great weekend!!!:0)

October 17, 2011 Snowman, Snowman.......bulletin board/story

Good morning!!!!! I was trying to get an early start on some class volunteer projects.  AND THEN....I decided.....make 3 of the same thing. Oh my!!! At least the story only had 5 themes.....Smell, See, Hear, Eat, and Feel. In case you would like to print this SUPER KAWAII story......go here..... www.littlegiraffes.com/Snowman . I searched the internet to see what other versions of the story were available, I think this is the cutest!:0) I am going to try and create a bulletin board display later to go with this as well. Here is what I used: cardstock: Recollections laminator: Royal Sovereign (heavy duty)...works well with multilayer cardstock cartridges: (Hello Kitty-Snowman) (In Your Kitchen-Oven) (Create A Critter-Squirrel and Tree) (Cricut Alphabet-Swirl) (Cricut Alphabet and Snowflakes) (Everyday Paper dolls-Scarf) Here are a few pix of the bulletin board;0)
