February 22, 2012 Male Birthday Card using Pagoda Cartridge

Good evening everyone!
My son helped me make a card for his Uncle tonight.
We used the Pagoda cartridge to cut out the bamboo, dragonfly, and kanji. The moon was cut using a round Marvy punch.
The kanji says Prosperity in Japanese, I thought it was nice for a birthday card.
The paper is from Recollections and (old) SU (yellow, grey, and teal). I let my son sew the card, not bad for a 8 1/2 year old!:0)

Have a great night everyone!;0)

February 17, 2012 Teacher Appreciation (specials) Cards

Good evening everyone!
I know it is a bit early....but here is the "start" of my Teacher Appreciation project.
THE CARD:0) These little cards are for my son and daughter's specials teachers..... I say specials...but that also includes Speech, OT, Principal, Vice Principal.....etc. Where would we be without them, right?
My son  helped me today too! He loves the craft room.:0)

Ok, here is what I/we used to create the cute little apple cards.
I used the Gypsy to weld two little apples from the Recess Lite cartridge. The size of the cards are about 3x4, I thought it was just right to put in a cellophane bag with treats.;0) All the cardstock I used is from Recollections (ie Michael's). We tied a little tag (EK Success tag punch) on the stem using Raffia. The stamp came from a set by Stampendous, the ink was the black ink from Color Box. I used some clear embossing powder from Personal Stamp Exchange. Honestly...I am not even sure if they are still around...I think my friend Dawn gave it to me when we were stationed at Yokota AB in Japan.
I saw a really cool tip on My Creative Time on how to use the ink and embossing together, instead of writing in...I am adding the link to the page she has the VIDEO on. better, eh? episode 316

Have a great night everyone!:0)

February 17, 2012 Valentine's Day Card

Yesterday I made a Valentine's Day card using the new stamps I won!
I was so excited to get them in the mail. They are the first stamps I won.:0)
I won them on Kate's blog a few weeks ago.
If you haven't been to her blog....hop on by she is super krafty.;0)
The stamp set is from My Craft Spot .
She has lots more really cute stamps on the site (above) as well.
Thanks again to Kate!:0)

Here is what I used to create my card.
For the card base I used a basic white card from a Recollections card and envelope set.
The background paper is from K& Company. The folder shape (Recollections/Kraft paper) is from : From my Kitchen. The grass (old SU paper) was cut using the Fiskars border punch. The frog is a cut from Live Simply cartridge. The stamp set is Build a Valentine from My Craft Spot. The ink I used is black from Color Box. On the heart I used a copic sketch pen (R29-lipstick red) and then added Inkssentials Glossy Accents on top. The grass is only sewn to the folder and background cardstocks.

Hope you like it!
Have a great weekend everyone!

February 14, 2012 Sketchbook - Happy Valentine's Day!

Good morning everyone and Happy Valentine's Day!

I finished my first sketchbook.
It is more of a prototype.....since I am not sure if I am done adding things to it. lol

Here is what I used to create my sketchbook:

the Cinch
the Cinch designer book board (6x6)
the Cinch sprial binding wire (bark 1.0")
paper: Recollections (Simply Autumn)
           Recollections (Kraft)
           (old) SU
           DCWV the Pet Stack
cartridges: From my Kitchen (page tabs)
                 Elegant Edges (pg. 59

In order for the tab pages (From my Kitchen) to fit in the book, I cut them at 5.92 x 3.47 (I use my Gypsy). I had to cut an additional piece for the bottom of the page at 2x6 and that was sewn to the tab.
I used Creating Keepsakes scrapbooking program to make the pages in the book. I am sure you could make your own using WORD or a similar program. The lined pages I found on

If you have any questions, feel free to leave a message.
Have a great day everyone!

February 10, 2012 Valentine's Day Treat Holder (for Teachers/Para/Bus)

Good afternoon everyone!
I am wrapping up all Valentine's Day treats/holders for my kiddos today.

I made a little Valentine's Day treat holder out of a tag from the Cricut TBBM (Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More) cartridge.
I measured the bottom portion of the tag and cut a piece of Kraft cardstock and had sewn that to the tag.
After I added the grass (used a Fiskars border punch), lake, grass, lily pad, and frog (all from Create a Critter) I used the We R Memory Keepers Crop-A-Dile Corner Chomper to round off the bottom of the tag.
I used a stamp from Stampin' Up from the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set and then attached the dragonfly I cut from the Create a Critter cartridge. The little eyes on the dragonfly are bling from iRock.
Hope you like it.
Have a great weekend everyone!;0)

The second project I worked on a paper heart ornament I am pretty sure I picked up at Michael's. I was "going" to put the frog, lily pad, grass, and lake in the shadow box....but it was too it is here on the ornament.

Here is what I used in the project:
paper heart ornament: Michael's (or Hobby Lobby?....sorry)
paper: DCWV, (old) SU, and Recollections
cartridge: Create a Critter

February 3, 2012 Teacher Appreciation Cards

Wow! Two posts in one day....whew!
I had a layout in my head and really wanted to create it.
Ever been there? I saw a post on a blog a while back....I want to say Inking Idaho....but can't remember.
Anywho....they used (thin) corkboard as an embellishment. I used a Spellbinders die my friend sent me for my birthday today.....with corkboard I found at Michael's last year. I was surprised how well the Spellbinders cut through it. There is just way too much fun to be had with the Cuttlebug. lol

Here is what I used:
die: Spellbinders apple
cardstock: DCWV
cardstock: (plain) Recollections
card: Recollections
heart button: Michael's

Thanks for dropping by and have a great weekend!!!!:0)
