February 22, 2012 Male Birthday Card using Pagoda Cartridge

Good evening everyone! My son helped me make a card for his Uncle tonight. We used the Pagoda cartridge to cut out the bamboo, dragonfly, and kanji. The moon was cut using a round Marvy punch. The kanji says Prosperity in Japanese, I thought it was nice for a birthday card. The paper is from Recollections and (old) SU (yellow, grey, and teal). I let my son sew the card, not bad for a 8 1/2 year old!:0) Have a great night everyone!;0)

February 17, 2012 Teacher Appreciation (specials) Cards

Good evening everyone! I know it is a bit early....but here is the "start" of my Teacher Appreciation project. THE CARD:0) These little cards are for my son and daughter's specials teachers..... I say specials...but that also includes Speech, OT, Principal, Vice Principal.....etc. Where would we be without them, right? My son  helped me today too! He loves the craft room.:0) Ok, here is what I/we used to create the cute little apple cards. I used the Gypsy to weld two little apples from the Recess Lite cartridge. The size of the cards are about 3x4, I thought it was just right to put in a cellophane bag with treats.;0) All the cardstock I used is from Recollections (ie Michael's). We tied a little tag (EK Success tag punch) on the stem using Raffia. The stamp came from a set by Stampendous, the ink was the black ink from Color Box. I used some clear embossing powder from Personal Stamp Exchange. Honestly...I am not even sure if they are still around...I think my

February 14, 2012 Sketchbook - Happy Valentine's Day!

Good morning everyone and Happy Valentine's Day! I finished my first sketchbook. It is more of a prototype.....since I am not sure if I am done adding things to it. lol Here is what I used to create my sketchbook: the Cinch the Cinch designer book board (6x6) the Cinch sprial binding wire (bark 1.0") paper: Recollections (Simply Autumn)            Recollections (Kraft)            (old) SU            DCWV the Pet Stack cartridges: From my Kitchen (page tabs)                  Elegant Edges (pg. 59 ....book) In order for the tab pages (From my Kitchen) to fit in the book, I cut them at 5.92 x 3.47 (I use my Gypsy). I had to cut an additional piece for the bottom of the page at 2x6 and that was sewn to the tab. I used Creating Keepsakes scrapbooking program to make the pages in the book. I am sure you could make your own using WORD or a similar program. The lined pages I found on http://www.printablepaper.net/   If you have any questions, feel fr

February 10, 2012 Valentine's Day Treat Holder (for Teachers/Para/Bus)

Good afternoon everyone! I am wrapping up all Valentine's Day treats/holders for my kiddos today. I made a little Valentine's Day treat holder out of a tag from the Cricut TBBM (Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More) cartridge. I measured the bottom portion of the tag and cut a piece of Kraft cardstock and had sewn that to the tag. After I added the grass (used a Fiskars border punch), lake, grass, lily pad, and frog (all from Create a Critter) I used the We R Memory Keepers Crop-A-Dile Corner Chomper to round off the bottom of the tag. I used a stamp from Stampin' Up from the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set and then attached the dragonfly I cut from the Create a Critter cartridge. The little eyes on the dragonfly are bling from iRock. Hope you like it. Have a great weekend everyone!;0) I am entering this in a challenge, here is the link: http://www.creativetimeforme.com/2012/02/throwback-thursday-challenge-episode.html
